There will be 3 tracks available on the day of the virtual YWIT conference: These will be beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It will be up to you and your child to decide which workshop to attend, we will not stop anybody from attending any if they do not meet pre-requisites (if there are any). On the day of YWIT, the workshop pages will have live stream links posted so that your child can easily head to their desired workshop.
While we do have different tracks available, we encourage you and your child to look at each workshop's page to take a look at the pre-requisites. Depending on where the student is in their computer science journey, they might be able to take on more advanced workshops even if they do not fully meet the criteria.
On the right side of this page, you will see the agenda for the day. Select the desired track to view the workshops for that track. Clicking on the workshop name will take you to the page where you can see more information about it.
These workshops are for students who have some experience coding and know basics such as loops and data types. The students will learn about what happens when you take a picture with your phone, fundamentals of engineering, as well as CAD for 3D printing, among others.
The advanced workshops assume the student has knowledge of data structures and knowledge of at least one programming language. They will build Python web applications that will teach them about stocks and learn about serverless web applications.
Note: If your child has any questions about a specific workshop, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the workshop name in the subject line.
